Next, leaders from various school divisions across Virginia will convene to participate in a range of engaging mini-workshops. These workshops will showcase successful practices implemented in Virginia's school divisions, offering valuable insights and strategies for all attendees. After the roundtable presentations, participants will have the opportunity to partake in optional regional meeting. During the lunch break, we will announce the winners of the annual VSBA Food for Thought 2023 awards. Additionally, we are privileged to have recipients of the 2023 Student Essay Scholarship address the audience.

VB's Bevel named 2023 Outstanding Middle School Principal of Va.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) - Principal Shampriest Bevel of Virginia Beach's Bayside Middle School has been named the 2023 Outstanding Middle School Principal of Virginia. Bevel, whose been with Bayside Middle's sixth grade campus since 2021, was chosen by a panel of principals and superintendents representing the Principal Awards Committee of the Virginia Association of Secondary School Principals (VASSP).

Virginia Lottery awards Williamsburg teacher with a $2,500 vacation

United Way raising money for Charlottesville-area teachers

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - United Way of Greater Charlottesville is looking to support preschool teachers, but it says donations are needed. The organization says money raised will help educators create positive learning environments for the upcoming school year. There isn't a specific amount of money to raise, but an anonymous donor will match up to $10,000.
