Prince George students 'shock' the shelter, donate 1,000+ items

PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. -- A massive donation of nearly 1,100 items to the Prince George County Animal Shelter came as a delightful surprise to staffers. Pay raises coming for teachers, police and other Fairfax County workers - WTOP News

The Hanover County School Board voted to name its consolidated school Ashland Elementary School. The new construction will combine John M. Gandy Elementary and Henry Clay Elementary is set to open in 2024. LOW MOOR, Va. (WDBJ) -The Alleghany Highlands Public Schools Division Board approved the elementary school attendance zone redistricting plan on Monday for the 2023-2024 school year. The plan provides efficient bus transportation and other services to elementary school students in the district.

Long-awaited sidewalk project breaks ground near Williamsburg school

JAMES CITY - A long-awaited sidewalk improvement project broke ground last week near Clara Byrd Baker Elementary School, meaning that more students could be walking to school in the near future. A collaboration between James City County and Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools, the project will supply walkways, crosswalks and pedestrian signage in the area around the school, including the Governor's Grove and Village Square communities.

We will kick off the 38th annual VSBA Conference on Education with the 2023 Virginia Teacher of the Year, Ms. Fabiana Parker from Spotsylvania County Public Schools. Following her presentation VACORP will help present the 2023 Excellence in Workforce Readiness Awards. Next, join other school division leaders from across the state and choose from a variety of mini-workshops which highlight successful practices in Virginia’s school divisions.
