Amherst schools employees, deputy honored for response to fentanyl incident

Two Amherst County Public Schools employees and an Amherst County Sheriff's officer were publicly honored Feb. 8 for their actions that helped seven Central Elementary School students accidentally exposed to fentanyl in December.

During a special school-wide assembly, students and staff were reminded of St. Clare Walker’s legacy as a pioneer educator who dedicated his life to bringing education to Black citizens of Middlesex County.
