Join us in February 2025 to honor that dedication of over 800 school board members in Virginia during VSBA School Board Appreciation Month. The theme – Champions of Opportunity, Advocates for Excellence – highlights the efforts made by school board members to create pathways for student achievement and innovation.

This month-long observance is an opportunity for local school divisions and communities to build a stronger understanding of the crucial role school boards assume in a representative democracy. School boards voluntarily tackle the enormous job of governing multi-million-dollar public school divisions, while preserving the core of our democratic values.
