Joe Kilgore is a Hampton native and was elected to the Hampton City School Board in May of 2010.  In his time on the School Board he has served as both Chair and Vice Chair, as well as representing his board numerous times at the VSBA Delegate Assembly and has numerous VSBA Awards of Distinction. 

Joe has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University and he has been with Newport News Shipbuilding for 37 years where he currently serves as a manager within Submarine Engineering and Design.   Joe and his wife, who taught in public schools for 23 years, have three adult children.
