Teddy Martin has served on the Henry County School Board since 2017. He currently serves as a VSBA Ex Officio Member and Co-Chair of the VSBA Task Force on Workforce Readiness. He previously served as Chair of the Blue Ridge Region and President-Elect and President of the association. Teddy has earned the association’s highest level of recognition, the Award of Distinction, each year he has served on his local board and was recognized as the 2020 VSBA Blue Ridge Regional Member of the Year. In addition, Teddy represented the association as a representative on the Governor’s COVID-19 Education Workgroup.

In his day job, Teddy is the Human Resources Director of the GENEDGE Alliance, Virginia’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership, in Martinsville. He is a graduate of Patrick & Henry Community College, Old Dominion University, and Western Governors University. Teddy is a proud older brother to four younger siblings, who inspired him to run for School Board. Passionate about serving the community, Teddy organizes the largest regular Red Cross blood drives in his area in memory of his aunt Brenda semiannually.
