Jordan Miller, a 2018 graduate of Loudoun Valley High School, has taken his talents from Virginia’s public schools to the national stage as a professional basketball player with the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers. A standout student-athlete, Miller graduated as Loudoun Valley’s all-time leading scorer and helped lead the school to a state championship in 2017. He continued his academic and athletic career at George Mason University and the University of Miami, where he earned his degree, before becoming the first Loudoun County Public Schools graduate to be drafted into the NBA.
Miller credits the teachers, coaches, and administrators who supported him throughout his public education experience with helping shape him as a student, athlete, and person. Despite his success at the professional level, he continues to give back to the community that helped raise him. Each year, Miller returns to Loudoun County to host a free basketball clinic for local youth, providing young athletes with an opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue their own goals. In 2024, he also returned to Loudoun Valley High School to deliver the keynote address to the graduating class. His journey reflects not only the opportunities available through public education, but also the lasting impact of educators and mentors who invest in their students.
