Virginia School Boards Association President Makes Roadshow Stop at Caroline County Public Schools

Charlottesville, VA – Earlier today Dr. Cardell Patillo, President of the Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA), traveled to Caroline County Public Schools during his most recent stop on the President’s Roadshow. This visit allowed Dr. Patillo to gain insightful information on various programs in Caroline County schools.

Dr. Patillo’s visit included three stops at different school facilities. Throughout the tour, Dr. Patillo was joined by Caroline County school board members and administrators. Together, they explored the educational landscape of Caroline County and witnessed the innovative programs and initiatives in place.

The visit began with a Programmatic Tour of Lotus Academy, the division’s alternative learning education center. Next was a stop at Caroline Middle School where Dr. Patillo visited the classroom of the school division’s Teacher of the Year, Kendall Rogers, and enjoyed a tour led by the school’s Student Principal Advisory & Reflection Committee (SPARC) Students. The tour culminated at Caroline High School where Dr. Patillo and school board members had the opportunity to explore various programs, including the Carpentry and Freshman Academy within the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Department. The tour concluded with a lunch prepared by the Caroline High School Culinary Program, showcasing the skills and talents of the students.

“I am truly inspired by the exceptional dedication and innovation I witnessed during my visit to Caroline County,” stated Dr. Patillo. “The commitment of educators and the remarkable achievements of students exemplify the strength of our education system. Thank you to Caroline County for the warm welcome and I look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts to ensure every student’s success.”

This was the sixth visit on the VSBA President’s Roadshow. Virginia school boards are encouraged to contact VSBA to be considered for a stop on the Roadshow.
