Virginia School Boards Association Announces Second Annual VSBA Showcasing Innovation Award Winners
Charlottesville, VA – The Virginia School Boards Association (VSBA) proudly announces the recipients of the second annual VSBA Showcasing Innovation Award, recognizing exceptional achievements and forward-thinking practices in public education across the Commonwealth.
This award highlights exemplary programs in three categories: school divisions with student populations below 10,000, divisions with student populations above 10,001, and a regional program category. In each population category, one winner and one honorable mention are recognized, along with one regional winner. All honorees were recognized during May and June.
The following school divisions have been recognized for their outstanding programs and initiatives:
Student Population Below 10,000:
Winner: Manassas City Public Schools, Building Stronger Families Through Adult ESL Education
Honorable Mention: Lunenburg County Public Schools, Building Futures: Kenbridge Construction & CHS Carpentry Playhouse Project
Student Population Above 10,001:
Winner: Virginia Beach City Public Schools, XPEDITION: PORT OF CALL
Honorable Mention: Prince William County Public Schools, Beyond the Bell: The Support Corps Model for Student Mental Health
Regional Program Category:
Winner: Pulaski County Public Schools & Radford City Public Schools, Bridge to Excellence – Manufacturing Program
These award-winning programs exemplify how Virginia’s public schools are advancing innovative, impactful strategies that support student success and strengthen communities. VSBA commends these school divisions for their leadership, dedication, and commitment to excellence in public education.
