Prince George County, VA – The Governance Team of Prince George County Public Schools has recently been honored with the VSBA Master Board designation. Their journey to this prestigious recognition began in July and concluded on November 2, 2023, encompassing four sessions and over 25 hours of professional development. These sessions, led by the Virginia School Boards Association staff, emphasized team building, effective communication, attentive listening, and fostering board-building behaviors.

School Board Chair Cecil Smith conveyed his appreciation, remarking, “I want to sincerely thank my fellow board members and our Superintendent, Dr. Lisa Pennycuff. It’s because of their consistent dedication that we’ve earned the Master Board designation. This accolade emphasizes our board’s steadfast pledge to promote student achievement in Prince George County.”

VSBA Executive Director Gina Patterson added, “Achieving the Master Board status demands dedication, energy, and a profound comprehension of sound board governance. I am happy to congratulate the Prince George County Governance Team on this outstanding achievement.”
